Parque da Corcovada Apartments FAQ's

If you are arriving BY PLANE INTO FARO when you are leaving the airport please send a TEXT to Alex Almeida on 00351 962 313 968. Please mention your name and the fact you are about 30 minutes away. If you're hiring a car you can get directions to Parque da Corcovada here (PDF).

Alex will meet you outside the apartment. You cannot enter the apartment block or underground garage without your key. As you come into Parque da Corcovada turn left down the hill, the road bears right and your apartment block is the first on the left. The entrance to your apartment (Porte 2) is the right hand entry door.

Yes. We take a security deposit of 200 Euro on arrival. This is returned on your departure assuming there are no problems with your apartment at that time.
If you are UK based to make this easier and not leave you with €200 at the end of your holiday you can send us a cheque made out to Alan Tomkins for £180.  If you send a stamp addresses envelope with the cheque I’ll return to you, alternatively it will be destroyed if there are no problems with your apartment upon leaving. If you don't ahve a cheque book you can transfer the money to me and I’ll return it after your holiday.  For our address see here.

Yes, in the bedrooms and the living /dining rooms. It's a high quality Samsung system with cooling and heating. In the winter we provide electric heaters as like all aircon systems it can be a bit noisy at night. Each unit has a remote control. If for some reason these don't work it's likely to be the batteries so please ask Alex about this. You simply select the temperature you want, say 21 degrees, and set it to auto. The screen on the unit will initially show your set temp then go to the temperature of the room which you'll see drop.

There are many beaches in Albufeira. The nearest are listed below.

Praia da Oura (15 minute walk, pictured) - this is the closest beach to the apartments and is quite stunning.
Praia Santa Eulália (15-20 minute walk) - Heading east from Praia da Oura this is a huge and beautiful beach with a great car park and lots of facilities.
Praia dos Aveiros (20 minutes walk) - heading west from Praia da Oura this is the next beach along. It's smaller but has the added interest of rock formation to explore and a nice cafe with a terrace.
Praia do Forte São João (25 minutes walk) - heading west once more this is an enormous beach. There are steep steps running down to the beach and limited parking.
Praia do Inatel (30 minutes walk) - close the the Old Town this is another wonderful stretch of sand.
Praia Maria Luisa ( 30 minutes walk) - This beach is east of Praia Santa Eulália and offers more beautiful pale sand and great facilities.

If you go west from Albufeira past the Marina your will find many more stunning beaches just a few minutes drive from your apartment, they aren't included here as they are more than a 30 minute walk.

Our cancellation policy is if you cancel a confirmed booking 30 days or less before your arrival date you will lose your 50% deposit.  If you’ve paid in full the other 50% will be returned to you.  If we can re rent the apartment for the period you had booked for we will refund 80% of your deposit less any money transfer fees.

We would always advise you take out travel insurance and make sure late cancellation is covered in your policy.

Check in is 16:00 and check out is 10:30 unless otherwise agreed.
Early check in? This will depend if there is a guest in your apartment on the night before your arrival. lf this is the case then the apartment will need to be cleaned before your occupancy. Once this is completed you'll be able to check in. Should you arrive early Alex can arrange to store your luggage while you enjoy the first hours of your time in Albufeira.
Late check out? Again this will depend if there is a guest arriving on your day of departure. If there is then we'll need to clean the apartment ready for their arrival so we woould need you to checkout by 10:30. If your flight / transport is later then Alex can arrange to store your luggage while you enjoy some last minute activities.

Both apartments are in block 41. This is a wonderfully quiet block with no road noise. More information on the resort is here.

The 1 bedroom apartment (2E) is on the second floor and the 2 bedroom apartment (1F) is on the first floor. Both apartments are in the same block with the same entrance. Floors in the block are Ground, First, Second and Third.

Their are stairs and a large lift that goes to all floors including the underground garage.

In the pool area there are 2 pools, a children's pool and an adults pool. Portugal is very child friendly and the perfect place for a family holiday. The apartment has child friendly balconies with glass or brick panels to stop climbing and the apartments have a high quality cot for your use, see picture. The dimensions are 62cm deep, 123cm wide and 86cm side height.

On the Parque da Corcovada complex there is a children's play area beside the Club Corcovada.

Yes. Each apartment block has an allocated pool which it shares with 2 other blocks. Access to the pool area is secure and only available for residents and guests. A security guard also patrols the pool and complex areas all day.

Yes. We supply all the towels and linen for your apartment. We do not supply beach towels but if you take your own the apartment has an excellent washer dryer so you can keep them fresh (see last item in this list).

Yes. At Funseeker's offices about 800 yards from the complex (location here) you can get up to 3 hours free internet access. Also the Club Corcovada has internet access on site for a small charge.

About 3 to 5 minutes walk. Go down to the Globe roundabout and continue straight over and the supermarket is down on your right. 

No. Unfortunately pets are not allowed in the apartments at Parque da Corcovada.

Yes of course. While in Albufeira your host will be Alexandre Almeidad (Alex) at Fun Seeker (great people, speak superb English). 

Their offices are on the Strip about 800 yards from the complex and they are on call for any problems during your stay.

We drink the tap water in Portugal and have never had a problem but some operators suggest you use bottled water.  Please use your own discretion on this as we can't give you a recommendation. If in doubt don't take the risk, use bottled water.

Yes. Your apartment has an underground car parking space. The car park has an electric door (remote provided with your keys if you have a car) and the lift and stairs go straight up to your apartment from the car park level.

Please take care with your remote, replacements are expensive.

There is also off road parking in front of the apartment block.

DRYER

• Open the door by pressing the PORTA button on the right. It's not electronic so you'll need to push it in.
• Place your items in the dryer and shut the door.
• Turn the function knob to SECAR (in blue), after a few seconds the readout will show 0000.
• Press the SECUR BUTTON (4th from the left in blue) twice for 20 minutes and once more for each extra 10 minutes. The machine will add 4 minutes for standing time.
• Then press the INICIO (start) button and you're off.
• When finished turn the main dial back to OFF (O at the top) and open the door.

WASHING

• Open the door by pressing the PORTA button on the right. It's not electronic so you'll need to push it in.
• Turn the main function LEFT to 40 for a 40 degree wash, or 30 if you prefer 30 degrees.
• The time will show just under 2 hours. If you press the RAPIDO button this will reduce to under an hour. We tried this and there is no difference in the wash quality so we always use this option.
• Then press the INICIO (start) button and you're off.
• When finished turn the main dial back to OFF (O at the top) and open the door.
